As a young man Edmund Hillary loved nothing better than climbing mountains. He dreamed of one day going to the Himalayas and Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. This is the story of Hillary's dream being realised as he ascended Mount Everest with Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953 and became the first men to get there. A few years later a team led by Hillary made another dramatic journey - this time travelling by tractor to the South Pole. This is an exciting and action-packed story, encompassing both the top and the bottom of the world. Ages 9-14.
