Lightning strikes series. Thicky and Nobby find an old discarded bike near the railway tracks. Nobby thinks the bike is rubbish; Thicky, however, can see potential. It is not until they meet up with annoying Shirley, that the true potential of the bike and its possibility for making money is revealed. The bike rides like a bucking bronco, and the kids set up a daring challenge down a local hill. Each rider puts twenty cents in a jar, and the person who dares to ride the bike to the bottom of the hill, wins the loot. Thicky and Nobby and Shirley are sure no-one will have the courage.
